This year my new years resolution is to do a better job of recording my memories. To help me achieve this goal, I've decided to start a blog. So many things happened during 2009 - especially in the month of August, and I know 2010 will hold lots of excitement too. I want to be able to look back years from now and be able to remember what life was like and recording the fun, surprising, and every-day things that happen in my life will help me do that. Some of my friends have some pretty awesome blogs which has inspired me to take the route of blogging to record my memories. I'm also going to try to scrapbook too but it's so time consuming and there's not space in our apartment right now for me to lay things out.
As I mentioned, August of 2009 was a pretty crazy, amazing month for me. The first weekend of the month, Matt and I spent in Duluth at his cousin's wedding. August 6th was my last day working at the Iowa Department of Administrative Services. I turned 25 on August 9th and spent the weekend in Chicago for Katie's fabulous bachelorette party. We got home late Sunday night and Monday morning I started packing up my apartment and made the big move to Fort Dodge. In addition to packing and moving that week, we were handing all the final wedding arrangements. On August 15th, I got married to my best friend and had the most amazing celebration with family and friends! Matt and I left on our honeymoon on Sunday afternoon. We spent the week in the Canadian Rockies and stayed in the town of Banff. It was breathtakingly beautiful up there. While we were honeymooning, my youngest sister, Becky, started college. After the honeymoon we finished moving me into the apartment Matt was living in and on Monday, August 25th, I started graduate school for my masters in business at Iowa State University in Ames. To wrap up the crazy month was a super fun weekend in Kansas City for Katie and Stu's wedding. I don't think we could have crammed anything more into August. And while it was a crazy whirlwind, it was totally amazing and I want to remember it all forever.
